FOSTER AGREEMENT
Parties: Beebe Animal Control, (hereafter “BAC”) and Foster, (hereafter, “Foster”)
Purpose: The purpose of foster care is to provide a real home environment to evaluate the pet’s temperament, socialize the pet in a family environment, both, which facilitate the permanent placement of the pet. The exposure the pet gets from being treated as "one of the family" (walks, outings, socialization, etc.) often speeds up the adoption process.
I understand that Fosters are essential to the welfare and proper permanent placement of pets.
I acknowledge that the pet is the property of BAC and all decision related to the pet are made by BAC. Foster families are NOT authorized to make medical, adoptions, ownership decisions. Any decision made by the Foster without approval of BAC is the financial obligation of the Foster. If the foster cannot keep the pet for any reason, it must be returned to BAC, and may not be sold, abandoned, relinquished, etc. to any other shelter, pound, rescue, or individual.
I understand that Foster shall provide proper care, including adequate food, water, exercise, shelter, socialization, and maintain the pet in accordance with all current state, county and municipal laws and ordinances while the pet resides with the Foster Family. Fosters agree to not chain or restrain the pet and or keep the pet as an “outside” pet only. Foster is responsible for food, unless other arrangements are made with BAC. If food affordability becomes an issue at any time during the foster period, Foster agrees to notify BAC immediately for assistance.
I acknowledges limited information is available about the pets. Foster agrees to take all reasonable precautions to ensure pet does not escape, destroy property, become a nuisance, injure other pets or people, or itself. Foster agrees to evaluate the pet for temperament and habits and report to BAC to aid in the permanent placement.
I understand that there is no set foster period. BAC can remove the pet from the Foster at any time without notice. The Foster agrees to be courteous, helpful and honest to potential adopters and to fully cooperate in accommodating those who wish to see the pet. Foster may apply to permanently adopt the pet after a minimum of a 4 month foster period.
I understand that the Foster must ensure all pets are up to date on their vaccinations prior to bringing the pet into the foster home (including, without limitation, Bordetella, parvo, corona, rabies, distemper).
I understand that unless other arrangements are made, Foster is responsible for transportation and all associated costs to and from veterinarian for routine and emergent medical care.
Release: FOSTER RELEASES, DISCHARGES, AND HOLDS HARMLESS BAC AND ITS ACTUAL AND APPARENTLY AGENTS, HEIRS, ADMINISTRATORS, EXECUTORS, SUCCESSORS, AND ASSIGNS, FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DAMAGES, COSTS, EXPENSES, LIABILITY, ALL CAUSES OF ACTION, RESULTING FROM LACK OF TEMPERAMENT INFORMATION OR ANY OTHER ACTION OR LACK OF ACTION OR OCCURRENCE ARISING OUT OF CONNECTION WITH FOSTERING A PET THROUGH BAC.
By submitting a foster application, you have acknowledged your agreement to the foregoing terms and conditions.
