Thank you for your interest in becoming a foster volunteer with the Darlington County Humane Society. Foster homes are one of our most valuable lifesaving resources, providing shelter pets with comfort, enrichment, healing, and a safe place to thrive while they wait for their forever families.

This application helps us learn about your home, lifestyle, experience, and the type of foster opportunity that will be the best fit for both you and the pets in our care.

Whether you can foster for a weekend, a few weeks, or several months, every foster home makes a meaningful difference. Our team will review your application and work with you to match you with a pet that fits your household, schedule, and comfort level.

Please complete all questions as accurately as possible.
Fostering is completely voluntary and based on the current needs of the shelter.
Submitting an application does not obligate you to accept every foster opportunity.
DCHS provides guidance, support, and supplies for most foster placements.
