23Summer - D231204

Female Dog aged Young Adult.

☀️⛱️Meet Adoptable Summer🕶️
Spayed Female Shepherd mix
1 year old, Approx. 55 lbs.
✅Dogs: Yes
Cats: Yes, Dog savvy only
✅Crate Trained: Yes
Leash Trained: Yes
Kids: 12+ due to size and shyness
House Trained: Yes
DOES NOT DO WELL WITH MEN. SHOULD BE IN A FEMALE HOME ONLY.

Hi my name is Summer and I am an (almost) one and a half year old shepherd lab mix! I love hikes, swimming, running, and playing with other dogs. I am also great at yoga- down dog is my specialty!

I can be shy at first but once I warm up, I love to cuddle with my favorite people. I am crate trained and do well when left alone. I also do well with car rides and sleep well throughout the night. I love chew toys but am good to not mix up my toys with shoes or my peoples items! I know basic commands like sit, lie down, wait, and am very good on leash.

I do not do well with men- I am not aggressive towards them but will run or hide from them. I would do best in a home with no men, and if there are male visitors no expectation of socializing unless I choose to do so. I also would do best in a home with no small children as their unpredictability can scare me.

I am a very sweet, playful, loving pup who is looking forward to finding my fur-ever home! I would love a home that is patient, kind, and if possible has four legged playmates for me to play with!

24Calypso - D241410

Male Dog aged Baby.

**Will not be at Saturday's Adoption Event, private meet and greets only**
Meet Calypso!
Breed: Great Pyrenees Mix
Age: Approximately 8 Weeks
Weight: Will be large when full grown, estimating 75+ pounds.

Housetrained: Work in progress! Will need to be kept on a schedule.
Create Trained: Also a work in progress! Will need a patient adopter, willing to continue with crate training.
Dogs: Yes! Would do best in an adoptive home with a resident dog(s).
Kids: Yes! Keep in mind he is a puppy going through the regular puppy teething stages.
Cats: Unkown.

If you’re considering one of the amazing adorable C puppies please consider the following:

THEY WILL BE BIG PUPPIES.
They can be independent, their job is to protect their family, being human or animal. They get along with most animals and people. They are smart so training and enrichment activities are extremely important.
They love the sound of their own voice. They are barkers. Make sure you have the space and time to work and devote to them.
Read up on the breed on the American Kennel Club (AKC) website, it has some great information on this breed.
They are loyal, loving and amazing …and can be destructive if bored or left alone. They are working dogs and need a job. Ask yourself these questions
    1.    Do I have time this dog requires for brushing as they also have a undercoat. So make sure large amounts of hair don’t bother you, because they shed. It doesn’t take that long but it is required.
    2.    Pyrenees were bred in France to protect livestock, mainly sheep. What job will this dog do at your house? Is there enough to keep them busy? Is someone home a good part of the day? What do you see in the daily routine of your puppy?
    3.    What does your fence look like? Is it 6-8 feet high? Might want to look at fencing to keep a Pyrenees in your yard. Online has numerous examples of roll bar fencing and extending your existing fence. They’re known as some of the best escape artist around in the dog world.
    4.    They are the most amazing loyal dogs you will ever meet. They will be big - some over 100 pounds. It’s essential that you can accommodate their size. They won’t fit in a compact car comfortably to take to vet appointments. We would encourage you to look up common health problems involving the Pyrenees. Also, they love large couches lol.

Our goal is to find the best home for these amazing dogs. We want what is in their best interest. Learning prior to what these big dogs will need and require is the best way to have their adoption be a success. Thank you for your interest in the amazing babies.

Channing is currently the big guy of the litter weighing in at just over 12 lbs. He has a very fluffy coat. He is a bit clumsy which makes him fun to watch. He is very calm so stumbling down the hill or running into the water dish for the 4th time in a day doesn't faze him a bit, he is having too much fun playing to be bothered. He is like cuddling a teddy bear but this teddy will grow up to be a big guy.

Christina is just a few ounces short of her biggest brother but her shorter coat gives her a more streamlined look. She is probably the smartest of her litter and was the first to figure out how to get out of the kennel, get around obstacles and beat all the other puppies to the food dish. At 7 weeks old she has become more thoughtful about her adventures and has learned to look before she leaps. She is very cuddly and would love to spend the afternoon napping next to you as soon as she is done running zoomies in the yard.

24Humerus - D241396

Male Dog aged Juvenile.

24Humerus
Neutered Male
Shepard/mix
7 mos. old
42 lbs.
Kids-probably 7+
Cats-ignores
Leash Trained-in progress
Crate Trained-yes
House Trained-needs a schedule

Humerus (aka Hume or Homer) is a sweet puppy around 7 months old and loves attention from his humans. He would be happy to be a lap dog to get lots of affection, but also enjoys sitting outside in the sun while he chews on a toy. He will gather all of his toys into one spot to play with, but in true puppy form, will get distracted, leave them and look for a chew bone. Because of this, all other items need to be kept away from him and only his chew bones and toys made available. He also needs to monitored closely in the yard as he will take every opportunity to eat tall grass and weeds or chew on pine cones.
He is starting to counter surf so keeping him in check is necessary throughout this puppy phase. He needs to be crated at night so he doesn't wander about.
He appears to be housetrained now as long as he is taken outside every few hours. A 2-3 hour outside potty schedule is necessary.
Hume tends to get carsick so he should not be fed before traveling, although he is improving with every ride.
He is such a big love that is just in need of training and guidance. He is incredibly smart and has already learned 'walk', 'going to bed', 'no', 'breakfast' and 'dinner' and he is working on 'off' and 'down' and 'meet' and 'greet'.
He currently goes on a 2 1/2 mile walk every day and though he loves being off leash, he is learning to behave on leash. We would not recommend him for someone gone all day as he doesn't really like to be crated for long and away from his humans.
He loves to play with large resident dogs so he would easily fit into a home with multiple dogs and would probably prefer a play buddy, but could potentially be an only dog as long as he gets lots of attention and exercise daily.
He has shown some interest in cats, but has done very well with a dog savvy cat that doesn't run.
He has not been around any younger children much, but with him being so friendly and loving, he would most likely suit children 7+. He also can be a little skittish around loud or new noises and would probably steal toys laying around.
He will steal your heart with his goofy, loveable self! Come and meet him!!

24Oasis - D231349

Male Dog aged Senior.

**AVAILABLE FOR FOSPICE OR ADOPTION**

Oasis
Male
12 years old
5 lbs
Total mystery mutt?
Dogs: Yes
Cats: Will chase
Kids: He's a little guy, so probably older kids are best
Housetrained: Yes
Leash Trained: Yes

My foster Mom calls me little Squirt 'cause I am a whopping 5 lbs of personality! I am a 12-year-old gentleman who is looking for a very special fospice home. I love love love people and insist on being very near to my person at all times. I want to sleep in your bed and be inches away from your feet. That makes me a bit of a tripping hazard for anyone, but especially someone elderly. I also do not like to be alone. I will bark continually if you leave me home alone, even with another dog, possibly because I am deaf and if I can't see my person I get very nervous.
On the plus side I am housebroken, will use a pee pad if available and if my person forgets to take me out in a timely manner. I walk very politely on a leash, but because of my size and age a very short walk is really all I need. Perhaps no more than a block or two. I am very quiet and polite when taken into a store to shop. I will sit on a blanket in the shopping cart and charm everyone who sees me with my big bright eyes! Everyone thinks I am just the cutest little guy! I take treats gently and am not at all picky about my food. I eat most anything in my bowl.
I am looking for a person who has a quiet home and in it most of the time, or willing to take me along for a ride. I will chase cats but would do well with a like sized or somewhat larger female doggy companion. In a home with a male dog I will mark, I have not been neutered. Since I am elderly and my lungs are not as strong as they should be, I am not a candidate for surgery of any kind. Neutering and dentals are out of the question. My teeth are in pretty good shape for a man my age and I do not have bad breath.
If you could find a place in your heart and your home for me, I promise you will not regret it! I am sweet and cuddly and will be your constant lap and bed buddy. A couple would be ideal so that someone is home while the other runs errands or such. Or a single person so long as they are willing to take me along. I am not a family dog, I need a quiet place to live out the rest of my life.
Please fill out an application and consider being my caretaker. You will make us both very happy!!!

Kids: Yes
Cats: Unknown
House-trained: Yes, signals to go out and uses doggie door
Crate Trained: Yes
Leash Trained: Yes, but will pull
No Chickens!

THIS BEAUTIFUL BOY WILL NEED A RESIDENT DOG IN THE ENVIRONMENT!

This is one amazing dog! He has so much potential!! Such a sweet nature. He has no training so you will see some goofy bits when he is learning new things, but he is smart and ready to respond.
I haven't him home alone yet so recommend he be crated until you know he can be left for a couple of hours. He does great in the crate and is comfortable. It cannot be used for all day crating. He does great in the car and would be a fun hiking/jogging companion.
He feels more comfortable being outside and is a lot more social with new people outside.
He loves giving hugs and is really gentle. Would be a super family dog.
He is also a very handsome boy!!
Don't pass up the opportunity to meet him Saturday!!

Terrier/Havanese mix
Female
approx. 2 yrs. old
22 lbs.
Dogs: Yes

Kids: Unknown
Crate Trained: Yes
House Trained: Yes
Leash Trained: Yes

This is Sacramento (AKA Winnie Noodle). She is about 2 years old and about 22 lbs. She is quite shy at first but has been slowly making her way into the living room from the office. She's great with people once she is comfortable, at first, she is shy and will keep to herself and if you approach her, she will not bark or nip, rather keeps her head down. Once she was comfortable in the backyard, there was no stopping her from playing with the toys that were back there. We have a small dog that she loves to play with, it's just the human aspect she needs some TLC.
Don't know how she is around kids or cats, but she seems like she would be ok with both given her gentle nature.
She loves her crate, good on her leash and knows how to use the doggy door when she needs to potty.
She has a sweet, beautiful soul and is looking for a home full of love and patience to spend the rest of her life!

Since the name did not suit this fluffy bear, we have been calling him Theodore (Teddy for short!) Teddy is energetic, very friendly, treat motivated and enjoys his chewy toys. He made quick friends with our 2 resident dogs that are the same size - now dubbed The Snack Pack. He takes correction from humans and pups in stride and is working on his table manners (tends to eat quickly). He does mark and wore a belly band, but has been neutered and I expect that tendency to dissipate if not stop completely. Teddy loves sleeping in the sun, belly rubs, walks and hanging out in the kitchen with his people. He would benefit from walks and/or hikes. His vision is not 100% but he learned the house and backyard very quickly and moves freely with confidence. Teddy would do best with a couple or family that knows dogs need treats, walks and lots of belly rubs. He would do fine with or without other dogs.
