Dear Adopter, Thank you for your interest in adopting from Greyhounds Only! We require each potential adopter to submit a $50 Non-refundable Application Fee that must be received before your application will be processed. $25 of the application fee will be credited towards the $1,000 adoption fee for a retired racer. The adoption fee includes spaying/neutering, transportation/import costs, teeth cleaning, microchipping, vaccinations, heartworm testing, muzzle, collar, leash, ID tag, and a squawker (which can be used in the event that your greyhound should ever get loose). Below is the adoption application along with some general information about greyhounds as pets. Once your application is submitted, you will receive a payment request to submit the application fee. After payment is received, an adoption representative will contact you and ask you a number of questions. After your application has been approved, we will contact you again to set up a day and time to meet you at the boarding facility where the adoptable greyhounds are kept. You will be able to spend time with the greyhounds and choose your new family member. Your greyhound will spend at least one week in a foster home to help get it acclimated to life in a home prior to it coming to yours. The adoption will take place in your home with the foster family and an adoption rep present. The adoption process can take four to six weeks, or longer. Please be patient. Greyhounds are very special dogs. For this reason, prospective adopters must agree to, and abide by, the following conditions of adoption. By responding yes to the following questions, you signify your understanding and acceptance of these terms. *
1. I will keep my greyhound exclusively as a pet. *
2. I will keep an ID tag and collar on my greyhound at all times. *
3. I will never tie my greyhound outside to a runner or any other stationary object. *
4. I will never allow my greyhound to run free at will. I understand that greyhounds can only be exercised in a fenced-in area or under my control at all times (i.e., wearing a collar and leash). *
5. I will notify Greyhounds Only, Inc., if my greyhound is ever lost or stolen. *
