HART of Maine Kitten Adoption Application

WELCOME TO THE HOMELESS ANIMAL RESCUE TEAM OF MAINE (HART OF MAINE) SHELTER & ADOPTION CENTER

Thank you for your interest in adopting a new cat or kitten from HART.

NOTE: We require that all applicants review and acknowledge the HART ADOPTION POLICY

An approved application is currently required to adopt a HART cat or kitten. After approval you can either join us for one of our open adoption hour days or you can make an appointment with one of our adoption team members.

The cats available for adoption come to HART after being surrendered by owners, as strays, and transfers from other rescue organizations, both within the state of Maine and outside of the state. All of our cats and kittens are examined upon entry and their health is routinely monitored while at the shelter or in their foster homes, but there is always a chance that an animal is incubating a disease without showing any clinical signs. The adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, first series of vaccinations, feline leukemia/FIV/Heartworm testing, worming medications for round, hook and tape worms and any needed medication and surgical procedures, a registered microchip, and our seven-day health guarantee.

HART reserves the right to deny an application or adoption if it is deemed in the best interest of the animal and/or parties involved.
