Purpose of This Release This form authorizes Hancock County Animal Shelter ("the Shelter") to post the above-named dog on its public platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, PetFinder, and our website, in an effort to assist with rehoming or adoption. By signing below, you acknowledge and agree to the following: Medical Condition: The Shelter does not provide or verify veterinary care for pets not under our custody. We make no guarantees about the animal’s current or future health condition. Behavioral History: The Shelter is not responsible for assessing temperament, behavior, aggression, or socialization of pets not in our care. Any behavioral claims must be made directly by the pets current owner or caretaker. Ownership Confirmation: By signing this form, you confirm you are the legal owner or have obtained full written permission from the owner to represent the pet in public adoption efforts. Rehoming Responsibility: The Shelter may share the pets information for exposure, but is not involved in screening adopters, processing adoptions, or handling any post-adoption conflicts. Accuracy of Information: All details provided about the pet (including age, breed, and temperament) are solely based on the information you have given. The Shelter is not liable for inaccuracies or omissions. Photos and Privacy: You grant the Shelter the right to publish provided photos and basic information for public visibility. You understand these may be shared, reposted, or commented on, and the Shelter cannot control or monitor public interaction once posted. You hereby release Hancock County Animal Shelter, its staff, volunteers, and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, damages, or losses resulting from or related to: The posting or sharing of the pet’s information on social media Any incidents involving adopters who contact you directly Any legal actions arising from disputed ownership, inaccuracies, or adoption outcomes I have read and understood the terms outlined above.
