1. ECHS CATS ARE TO BE ADOPTED AS INDOOR-ONLY CATS! Upon rare occasions, ECHS will have feral cats for a barn or similar protected outdoor location, and those cats will be identified specifically as “outdoor cats.” 2. THE ECHS OPPOSES THE PRACTICE OF DECLAWING CATS DUE TO THE PAIN AND PHYSICAL DAMAGE DONE TO THE CAT AND THE BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS IT OFTEN CAUSES (IE, BITING AND REFUSAL TO USE THE LITTERBOX). DO NOT COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION IF YOU PLAN ON DECLAWING THE CAT! 3. Our goal is to place every cat with a suitably matched home, and the detailed questions below will assist us in meeting that goal. Therefore, completion of this form does not guarantee that ECHS will place a cat in your care.
