We cannot accept volunteers under 18 for liability reasons so if you are not 18 or over please do not continue.
Cats are collected from areas around Sheffield. Our vets are also around Sheffield area, with the primary one at High Green. We cannot foster if you are too far away for you to drive to vets and/or collect cats
Each viewing should be around an hour for the people to get to know the cat, and its temperament. We encourage people to not inconvenience fosterers by overstaying. Some people still do foster but not do viewings - so please put in the notes.
Standard personal car insurance doesn't always cover. check with your insurance and add on if necessary.
If you rent, please confirm your landlord will allow you to keep pets
Please email a copy of your landlords tenancy agreement to support@saveastray.uk
All other cats in the house must be up to date with vaccines and neutered.
This is so we can do a virtual homecheck. please send to support@saveastray.uk

Initially a cat should be kept in 1 room as some will hide under beds or furniture. Do you have a spare room for that? If not, a large crate will do. Some like it covering over to feel safe. Others will be fine and confident but keep options open.
Can doors and windows be made secure and only open slightly on a latch? Cats can get through the smallest of gaps to escape and drop from upstairs windows.
If you have a flap, and the cat is allowed around the house eventually, will your cat flap lock so it can't go outside.
A mum and kittens, 2 juniors or adults, or a family of 3. A senior cat, a boisterous young cat, a cat with medical needs?
These could be early or late, twice a day if a neuter slot, or emergency if over night.
Do you have a friend or neighbour that would help you?
