It can often be very flexible, but when it has to be done, it has to be done but you can also arrange to swap with someone else if possible.
Trapping involves long, often solo waits in all weathers, carrying equipment over rough or uneven ground, staying calm, quiet and sometimes hidden for extended periods, and adapting when things don't go to plan (e.g. a cat won't approach, or the weather turns).
Explain what trapping you have already done - have you used a cctv camera or had to trap missing mum and kittens? Do you know how to do that? We can show you but good to know if you have existing skills.
Trapped cats must never be left unattended in unsafe conditions — traps need checking roughly every 30 minutes if you step away. You'll also need to transport a trapped cat safely to the next location (usually a vet). We always try to trap in buddies so your not working alone. You need to make sure you are safe at all times so you may be able to find a buddy to go with your too?
As this work is outside, its good to have another contact if we need one.
