On behalf of everyone here at the Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society, thank you so much for your interest in board service.
"To serve animals by providing humane education, supporting and initiating affirmative legislation action, performing animal adoptions and animal rescues, and reuniting lost pets with their families."
All of MACS board members are experienced hands-on animal care givers. As such we are, and will continue to be, committed to supporting area animals in the most ethical and caring way within our power. Our commitment to animal welfare includes helping low-income residents with medical issues, spays/neuters, and euthanasia services being available for those animals who are sick, dying, or in distress. Services are never denied due to the owner's ability to pay.

Personal Attributes
A board is more than a collection of individuals. It is an entity that governs, approves strategy, and engages in robust discussion and debate on relevant issues. It must act as a single entity. As such, the personality traits you bring to the board will help us to ensure that we have a diversity of personality styles and traits that, when added to our current board members, will enhance the abiltiy of the board members to work together as a governing body.
Time
Board service is a true commitment of time and energy. We estimate that board service could be a commitment of attending Board meetings every other month, either in person or via Zoom. We can also expect to attend fundraising events hosted a couple times a year.
