I agree to voluntarily participate in the Volunteer Program at Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter. I am aware that this program involves handling many different animals, which may result in bites, scratches, or other injuries. I also understand that heavy lifting may be involved. I hearby release the Shelter, Board, and Staff from any and all liability that might arise from, or be connected with, injuries resulting from my volunteer work. I understand tha I am responsible for my own medical insurance and any expenses which occur as a result of my volunteer work at Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter.

I understand that Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter participates in a random drug-screening program, for the safety of our staff and the animals in our care. If I am tested and a positive result is obtained for any federally controlled substance, I will be removed from the volunteer program immediately, and (if I am working in a court-ordered community service appointment), the positive result may be reported to my probation or parole officer. I also understand failure to submit to screening on request will be treated as equivalent to a positive result.
