Volunteer Goal
The tasks that need to be done at the shelter are varied, they involve daily cleaning, cat care and comfort, adoption counseling, animal care and grooming, publicity, fundraising, etc.
Although we are a no kill shelter, at times we may have a cat/kitten where circumstances warrant that it will need to be euthanized.

Volunteering Availability
I hereby agree to accept a volunteer position with Paws Cat Shelter in Woodstock. I fully understand that the shelter expects volunteers to operate under high standards of moral and ethical conduct in the treatment of animals and fellow workers. I understand that any failure to comply may result in termination of my volunteer position.
I understand I will receive no payment for my services at the shelter. I understand that I am not an employee and I will not be entitled to and will not receive any Worker's Compensation benefits or other similar payments in the event that I am injured while volunteering for the shelter.
RISKS: I understand that there are inherent and other risks in volunteering at an animal shelter, including risks associated with handling animals and performing other volunteer tasks that take place in close proximity with animals. These risks include, but are not limited to, a risk of physical injury, transmission of disease and damage to personal property by the animals from biting,scratching,clawing or other contact. I further acknowledge that this list is not inclusive of all the risks associated with handling and working around animals.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: In agreement with the above risks, I hereby release and forever discharge Paws Cat Shelter, it's agents, servants, employees and their successors, from any responsibility for injury or damage to myself or a family member. I release any suits, claims, causes of action or demands of any nature that are in any way related to or arising out of my volunteer work at the shelter, including but not limited to claims of property damage and personal injuries.
I have had the opportunity to ask any questions I may have had regarding this document. I express that I have read and understand the above release and I have full knowledge of the extent of the risks inherent to working with animals. I hereby voluntarily and knowingly assume those risks and understand that I will be solely responsible for any injury, death, loss or damage which I sustain while volunteering for the shelter and by this agreement I release the shelter, it's agents, servants, employees and successors of any and all liability for such an injury, death, loss or damage.
Volunteers under 15 years of age must be accompanied by and supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times when at the shelter.
