#2. Friends United in Rescue, Inc works all over Northern California performing broad spectrum rescue. This means that the cat you are adopting may have been rescued from a disaster zone, hoarding case, abuse/neglect case or from a box on the side of the road. Friends United in Rescue, Inc provides every cat in their care with a vet exam prior to adoption but can not guarantee the health of the cat in the future. Do you understand?

#3. Declawing is prohibited when adopting a cat from our organization. Declawing is not only cruel but inhumane. Declawing your cat can cause chronic pain, aggression and frequent litter box accidents. Do you agree to NEVER declaw the cat you are adopting?

#4. We put an extreme amount of care, love and dedication into each cat that ends up at our rescue. The cat you are adopting will always hold a special place in our hearts and we care deeply about their lives. If you are unable to keep the cat throughout the entirety of its life please notify us immediately as we will help you with rehoming. #5. You understand that the cat you are adopting may have been exposed to different feline diseases, infections and/or viruses. If the cat you are adopting becomes ill within the first 14 days after adoption, we encourage you to notify us immediately so we can get your cat scheduled for an exam with one of our veterinarians at no cost to you. *If you choose to have your cat examined by your vet, Friends United in Rescue, Inc is not financially responsible for any fees charged to you. #13. You understand that the cat you are adopting may require time to get used to your home. A new environment can be intimidating to the cat and while some cats can adapt within the first 24 hours, some cats can take anywhere from 3 weeks to three months to feel comfortable. We recommend starting off your new cat in a small room for the first week so they can get used to the noises and smells of your home.
