By opening your home to a foster dog, you are directly helping save lives. Boxers and Buddies is a 100% volunteer-run rescue, and foster homes are the heart of everything we do. The more foster homes we have, the more dogs we are able to rescue from shelters and owner surrenders in need.
To help protect the health and safety of both your personal pets and our foster dogs, all personal dogs living in the foster home must be current on their required vaccinations and be spayed or neutered when age appropriate.
All personal dogs must be up to date on:
All personal dogs over 9 months of age must also be spayed or neutered.
There are no exceptions to these requirements unless your veterinarian provides written documentation stating that a vaccination or spay/neuter procedure is medically contraindicated.
These requirements help us maintain a safe and healthy environment for every dog in our program and help prevent the spread of illness and accidental breeding. We appreciate your understanding and your commitment to responsible pet care.
Fostering isn’t always easy. Many of the dogs we rescue come from shelters and may not be crate trained, potty trained, or accustomed to life in a home. Puppies will have accidents, adult dogs may need time to decompress, and patience is essential. That said, fostering is also incredibly rewarding. You are giving a dog safety, structure, and love during a critical transition in their life.
We currently have a need for both regular foster homes and respite foster homes:
Once this application is submitted, a member of our foster team will reach out within 48 hours to review your application, answer any questions, and discuss next steps.
Not quite ready to foster yet? We completely understand! Please wait to submit your application until you are ready to welcome a foster dog. This helps us keep our list of available foster homes accurate and ensures we can quickly place dogs when they need a safe home.
Thank you for being willing to help us save lives, one dog at a time. 🐾
