Foster Application

Thank you for offering your home (and your heart) to care for an animal in need.

Please provide as much detail as possible below. We ask a lot of questions, but it’s important that we know as much about you and your family as possible, so that we can match the animals who need help with the right home.

About Your Home & Family
About Your Pets

In order to be a Foster Carer for Iron Dog Rescue, all pets are required to have and maintain up-to-date vaccinations. This protects your animals at home, and any animals placed on foster with you.

In the event your animal is exposed to or contracts an infectious disease, any treatment your animal requires will not be covered by Iron Dog Rescue.

Please complete the following section for each pet that you have.

DECLARATION

Please check these boxes to indicate your acceptance and understanding of the terms and conditions of being an Iron Dog Foster Carer: (required)

I confirm that I have provided Iron Dog Rescue with true and accurate information in my application.

I understand that the Iron Dog Rescue Foster Care Coordinator will review and approve my application at his/her discretion.

I understand that foster animal/s in my care will remain microchipped to Iron Dog Rescue for the duration of my commitment, but that ultimately I am responsible for their care, safety and well-being.

I hold a current form of photo identification and can present it for inspection if required.

I agree to Iron Dog Rescue conducting a virtual property check at my home if required.

I agree that I must have any foster dog DESEXED as instructed by Iron Dog Rescue without exception. If you refuse to desex the dog in your care the dog will be removed immediately.

Iron Dog Rescue will only euthanise an animal if an animal’s welfare is compromised and they are unable to be rehabilitated for either medical or behavioural reasons. Foster is often required for animals who are not yet ready for adoption for various reasons, but this may include where we are trying to understand if they are suitable and able to be safely rehomed. I understand and accept that a foster animal may result in a euthanasia decision, as per the organisation’s policies and procedures.
