At Cara Rescue Dogs we maintain high standards of care for all the dogs in our care and try to make them as happy and comfortable as possible. While they are waiting to find their forever home we try to make sure they are each living in a home/family environment to assess and prepare them for their new home.
Basic foster duties would involve taking the dog to our vets 'Vetcare' who have a practice in Portlaoise, Athy, Carlow and Rathcoole so which ever is closest to you. Vet visits are usually for vaccinations, spay/neutering and microchipping. Sick or injured dogs may need more regular visits.
We ask fosters to keep us updated on the dogs personality and progress and send us pictures for our rehoming folder.
We have adoption days in Petworld Portlaoise most Sundays from 2-4pm and we ask the fosters to come along to as many as possible with their foster dog/puppy to meet people interested in rehoming.
Once we place the dog/pup in your home for fostering it can only be rehomed directly through and by us, however we welcome and encourage fosters input and opinion on the dogs new home.
To find out more about fostering, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone us on 0860594375 or 0872342054.
If for any reason we feel you are unsuitable to become a foster we will phone you and explain our reasons. Otherwise we will keep your information and if/when a dog comes into our care that we feel you may be able to help us with, we will contact you. A home check will be done with your permission prior to fostering in the same manner we home check their forever homes. All foster homes must have a fully secured garden area which is simply to ensure their safety. We look forward receiving your application.
Kind Regards, the Cara Rescue Dogs team.
