This application for surrender is not a contract and does not require either party to continue with surrender or intake of the cats or kittens. We DO highly suggest that you continue to look for other ways to help the cats and kittens as we have very limited space and space is only created as animals leave the shelter.

I understand that even if I'm called to bring them in there will be an in person assessment before a definite answer of taking them will be given.

An in person assessment of the cats or kittens is required before we can move forward with taking them. An in person assessment is to see if they will be able to go through our adoption program or if they are better suited for our TNR program (Trap Neuter Return)

It has been explained that not all community cats and even some younger kittens are suitable to come into the shelter. Cats that have lived outside all of their lives and even kittens from a cat like that does not usually do well in a shelter environment. Being confined inside and in a cage for possibly weeks or months is very hard on an outside cat.

If we can help you get them fixed are you willing to return them to where you found them?
*
No
Yes
Please be aware that we don't say no lightly. However, we've seen what happens when we take cats or kittens into the shelter when we shouldn't. They stay here for months, unhappy, and overlooked because they are not social towards people. They can become so upset that they are depressed and refus to eat or become self-harming or they can become aggressive making it so the staff cannot take care of them properly and safely. When it gets to that point the cat is beyond help and we are facing euthanizing the cats when they could have been returned to the area they knew spayed/neutered instead to live out their lives.

If we are unable to take them, we will work with you on options to get spayed or neutered to at least stop the multiplying of the cats.
