The Customer Care Technician hours are Tuesday through Friday 12- 4pm and 11 am to 3 pm on Saturdays. Are you aware these are the hours needed for this position? *
Care for the animals in the shelter is 365 regardless of the holidays. Are you willing to work some holidays? *
Are you good at managing your time? This will be important as you are the only person who handles the office work. *
All positions at the shelter have online training required that is just as important as the hands on training. Are you willing to do the online training? *
Are you willing to communicate with the the proper people if/when you are having an issue with something or someone? *
Shelter work is much harder than most people realize. It can be quite the emotional rollercoaster even as the Customer Care Technician. Do you think you can handle that? *
The Customer Care Technician must be able to use a lot of technology. Some examples are internet phones, computers, printers, credit card machine, tablets, email, google docs, and shelter specific software. Do you have a good understanding of most of this technology? *
Although the position is an Customer Care Technician you will still have to help handle donations that come in and help to put them away. Are you able to lift 30-40 lbs regularly during this job, are you physically able to do this? *
This job requires you to sit quite a bit but also will have you up and down greeting customers, handling animals, donations, and deliveries. Is this ok with you? *
It is expected that you will sweep and mop clean the office every day, keep the office clean from clutter and make sure donations are put away. Are you able to do this? *
Part of the Customer Care Technician job is to make phone calls to potential adopters, public people for various reasons, call vet's offices to schedule appointments, and so on. Are you comfortable making phone calls and talking to people? *
This job requires you to be able to work as a team member and on your own. Is this something you are able to do? *
Are you willing to take directions and training from someone younger than you? *
A sad part of the job is that sometimes animals don't make it. Sometimes we know they are sick and sometimes we come into the shelter and find they did not make it and do not know why. Is this something you will be able to handle? *

Unfortunately there are times when an animal will need to be humanely euthanized for medical or behavior issues. Do you think you can work here knowing that? *
As the Customer Care Technician there will be times when you may need to ask another employee to do something like get an animal, get someone for you, or to put items away. Are you able to tell other people what to do as needed?
As the Customer Care Technician you will encounter people who are angry, crying, yelling, cussing, and unhappy in general with the shelter or our inability to help them at times. Are you going to be able to handle dealing with these kinds of people?
Are you willing to give the shelter a 2 week notice should you decide you no longer want to work with us? *
