If you would like to apply to foster a Cat from the Galway SPCA, please complete this application formOnce your application is submitted you will receive an email reply automatically with a copy of your application, which our team will review. Once your application has been reviewed you will receive a follow up email within 14 days. This email will inform you if you've been successful and we will ask for some follow up information or if you've been unsuccessful in your application. Once a reply from the follow up is received you will be placed on the foster short list and contacted when you match the criteria for the cat or kittens we are looking to place in foster.
Short lists last approximately 6 months. You must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
If you are not the homeowner you must also provide contact details for them. We look for foster homes for felines based on which animals we feel would be most suited to your home and lifestyle and we evaluate applications based on the needs of the foster. All Cat Fosters must be kept Strictly Indoors. Fostering Cats and Kittens often come in from the streets with no medical history and often are unwell,
All new cats and kittens require a Minimum of 14 days Isolation from other animals. Foster cats/kittens can not mix with any resident cats or kittens until they are fully vaccinated. This is to protect both parties as not only is the medical history of the foster unknown and could be a risk to your cat but the resident cats can also carrier viruses that they are resistant to etc that will affect the unvaccinated cat/kittens Kittens are only placed in foster in litters, that means any kittens under 9 months will only be placed in foster in pairs or more. In order for us to do this accurately, we ask that you answer all questions completely and honestly.
