Dog Foster Application

If you would like to apply to foster a dog from the Galway SPCA, please complete this application form.

Once your application is submitted you will receive an email reply with a copy of your application, which our team will review.

Unfortunately, we are not able to reply to every application therefore only shortlisted applicants will be contacted within 14 days.

You must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

We look for foster homes for dogs based on which dog we feel would be most suited to your home and lifestyle and we evaluate applications based on the needs of the foster dog. In order for us to do this accurately, we ask that you answer all questions completely and honestly.

Short Term Foster * We often have dogs that are booked to homes in the UK or Italy, (mainly greyhounds and lurchers) Would you be available to foster one for 3-4 weeks giving it a chance to adjust to life in a home up until its travel date?
Do you agree to help your foster dog with lead training and socialisation so that they can progress in your home which will help prepare them for life with their future forever family? * Many foster dogs are not toilet trained and sometimes puppies will chew.
Do you understand that fostering means that the dog will be rehomed to another family, at the discretion of the Kennel Manager? *
