Dog Foster Application

If you would like to apply to foster a dog from the Galway SPCA, please complete this application form.

Once your application is submitted you will receive an email reply with a copy of your application, which our team will review.

Unfortunately, we are not able to reply to every application therefore only shortlisted applicants will be contacted within 14 days.

You must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

Please take a moment to read about our fencing requirements.

We look for foster homes for dogs based on which dog we feel would be most suited to your home and lifestyle and we evaluate applications based on the needs of the foster dog. In order for us to do this accurately, we ask that you answer all questions completely and honestly.

Keep in mind that a younger dog or puppy will require a lot of training and for you to be at home a lot.

We often have dogs that are booked to homes in the UK or Italy, (mainly greyhounds and lurchers) Would you be available to foster one for 3-4 weeks giving it a chance to adjust to life in a home up until its travel date?
Many foster dogs are not toilet trained and sometimes puppies will chew.
By ticking the box below, you agree to: Have a home check at a time agreed by you and your home checker. Having completed this application form honestly and understand that the completion of this foster application form does not guarantee fostering a dog. You may be asked to sign a foster contract, should your application be successful. Be matched with a suitable dog selected by the team, based on your application. Give permission for your information to be kept and used by the GalwaySPCA, as outlined in our Privacy Statement.
