Foster Expectations
Are you prepared to deal with a foster cat or kitten who may become ill or die? (Some kittens are taken from their mothers so young that they struggle to survive.) *

Realizing that fostering is a short-term, temporary arrangement, which makes you the link between a homeless animal and finding them a forever home, are you certain you will be able to remain emotionally separated and be able to part with foster animals when they are ready to go back to the shelter? *

The Cat Corner Provides:
1. Medical care (vaccinations, de-worming). Foster parents should notify Cat Corner volunteers with any health concerns right away.
2. Food/formula, litter, carriers (if needed and when available).
Foster Parent Responsibilities:
1. Provide a safe, loving, temporary home.
2. Provide a safe indoor environment, separate from current pets. (some fosters may be acclimated with current pets, if first approved by The Cat Corner)
3. Provide bowls, toys, blankets, litter boxes, and other supplies.
4. Other supplies purchased are seen as a financial contribution to The Cat Corner, unless approved otherwise from one of the Cat Corner approved officers.
5. Periodically transport foster animals to The Cat Corner or partner Veterinary Clinics for vaccinations, checkups, or other special care.
6. Provide socialization, training, exercise, and administer medication for foster animals.
7. Provide emergency accident or illness veterinary care. Foster parents must contact The Cat Corner if an emergency arises.
8. Understanding that animals are the sole property of The Cat Corner, Inc. Foster parents do not have any authority regarding who eventually adopts their foster pet(s). You can not promise animals to anyone (friends, family, neighbors, etc.)
9. Foster parents will return animals to the shelter on pre-specified date or at any time The Cat Corner requests them.
10. If animal(s) must be returned before their scheduled date & time, the Foster Care Volunteer will give at least 48 hours notice to make other arrangements for the animal(s).
11. Report lost animals immediately to The Cat Corner.
12. Provide insight to the foster animal’s behavior for its file in order to disseminate accurate information to potential adopters.
13. If foster parents wish to adopt their foster pet(s), they must adhere to all The Cat Corner's adoption policies and procedures and apply through the regular adoption process.
14. The Cat Corner is not responsible for any damage or injury caused by a foster animal while it is in the care of a Foster Care Volunteer.
15. Provide updated pictures of foster animal for the foster animal's online adoption profile and for advertising foster animal for adoption to potential adopters.

Volunteer understands and agrees that Volunteer's participation at The Cat Corner, Inc. is "at-will" in nature. The Volunteer understands that the Services are offered freely and without any expectation of compensation, financial or otherwise. I recognize working with animals as a volunteer/ foster volunteer for The Cat Corner, Inc. (The Cat Corner) places me at risk. I understand that because I may handle animals, it is important for me to speak with my physician about the tetanus and rabies pre-exposure vaccinations. I hereby release, indemnify, and hold harmless The Cat Corner, Inc. and its agents from any and all claims, causes of action, or demands based on damages or injuries I may incur in connection with my volunteer services for The Cat Corner, Inc. including by not limited to animal bites, accidents, or injuries.
