Even though she’s shy at first, it doesn’t keep Ginger from quietly crawling onto your lap to cuddle. This little one is under 30 pounds and a sweetheart. We’re sorry about the quality of this picture; she’s a beautiful reddish-brown with a little white underneath.
Sadie would love to join your family, and bring her best friend Shelby along! This charming pair has been together for three years; since Shelby was born. Adopting them would be like having the best of both worlds. If you have another younger dog in your home, Shelby would be happy to have a playmate! Sadie, being more mature, would love to sit on you lap (or any comfy place) and just hang out. They totally love each other but are good with the other hounds in their foster home. Won’t you consider giving this bonded pair a home?
We’re not sure how this pretty girl got her name but she sure seems to like it! If you’re looking for a “lap Basset,” she’s your girl! Miss Sprocket gets along with the other hounds in her foster home but would probably be just as happy as an only dog.

ADOPTION PENDING The Girls, as we have come to call them are Mother and Daughter. They are very well behaved, house trained and love to cuddle. Small dogs and young children are not their favorites. Lottie (1307) is two years old and her daughter, Sandy (in the back) is one year old. They are very bonded and we will need a family who will adopt and keep them together. They are doing well with the other Basset Hounds in their foster home.

Harvee is one of those really great Bassadors that you hear about. He's best of both worlds; half Basset Hound and half Labrador Retriever. He's also very active for a seven year old. When he arrived in Salt Lake City from a high kill shelter in the Midwest, he was rather shy. He has since warmed up to his foster parents and everyone else he meets, too! Harvee is house trained to use a dog door and will need a home with a securely fenced yard.
ADOPTION PENDING Lily and Bob (1294) have been together since they were babies and are each about one and a half years old. They are very bonded to each other and we have promised them they will be adopted together. Lily absolutely adores her big brother who we believe to be Great Dane and Labrador Retriever “blend"; he is surprisingly calm for his age. Both are very sweet. They are currently in a foster home with several other hounds; they get along with everyone. Unknown how they would be with cats.

This three year old guy couldn’t possibly be any sweeter! He’s house-trained to use a dog door but likes it when you open the whole door for him. Gussy struggles with allergies and is currently on a regime of medications, baths, and (his most favorite thing) organic coconut oil rubbed under his arms, neck and between his toes. He’ll also need help with his weight, so walks and another dog to play with would be great in his new home. Gussy will need a family who will stay committed to managing his allergies and weight so that he can be the happiest, healthiest basset hound he can be! Are you up for it? He’ll sure make it up to you as only a basset hound can!
Rhonda is a delightful little Bassador. She came to us with her four puppies and they have all been adopted. She’s been waiting for just the right family to find her! She enjoys the dogs in her foster home and also the company of her foster mom and Dad. Rhonda will make a lovely addition to a family. She is house trained to use a dog door.
Here’s Buster! A laid-back five and a half year old, who gets around just fine, even though he's lost one of his eyes. We’re fairly sure it was because of an injury which could be why he’s a bit sensitive about having the top of his head touched. He's not one for being cuddly. We feel Buster would be happiest as an only dog; possibly one other dog in the home but that children may be too much for him. We’ll keep Buster happy, safe, and well-loved for as long as it takes for him to find his forever home. We believe there’s a perfect one out there!
Jackson is still very, very much a puppy with lots pf puppy behavior. He will require a firm, steady, consistent and loving hand to help him with his manners. He shows every indication that he is trainable and willing to learn. Time and patience will certainly help this guy become a wonderful family member. We strongly feel he will do best either without children or with older children who will be able to help with his training. Getting Jackson’s attention is challenging; he’s very curious about everything, all the time! This busy boy will chew most things and will need to be taught to make the better choices and given the appropriate toys. He will freely spend time in a crate but does not really like to be “put" in a crate, so care will need to be taken to make sure that the crate is a happy place for him and mostly his idea. Jackson is mostly house trained to use a doggie door, but that will need to reinforced during his training. He’d do great in a home as an only dog.
Benny is one half of a very sweet pair of seven year old Beagles completely devoted to each other. They get along with all the other hounds in their foster home and would most likely do well with cats. They enjoy being both indoors and out and adore the attention of their people. Benny must be adopted with Berdie (1156).
